Well I traded my eclipse for this 1992 reg cab short bed s10! Some of you have seen pictures so I'll post a couple of it.

mreed already said I can't name it rustbucket lol!
It has a 4.3 (from what I'm told) and auto tranny. Has a digital dash, AC (not hooked up), and shaved door handles.
I got it running but only one injector was working? It goes into gear and moves but does not have reverse. I haven't checked the fluid yet. I have no experience with throttle body injection so anybody got any ideas on the injector problem? I will go get new battery trerminals cause the ones on the truck are crap. I do have to find some fenders and grill.

i think you made a smart move. aren't you glad you didn't sell the eclipse now? there was a reason nobody was buying it...

Nice truck. That sucker has a lot of potential. I am a little confused though. A month or so ago you were about ready to throw a “For Sale” sign on the 2nd gen and sell it because you did not have the money to finish it. And now you have just got another project that will need a lot invested in it. Did you get a new job or something? This just seems like a huge shift in thinking.

This truck needs less work than the 97. I've been trying to get another s10 to drive daily. This truck is a heck of alot cheaper to work on. Did I mention the interior is pretty nice!!!!?

May I start off by saying, we NEED more pics.

I thought you were driving the Nissan hard body? Or is that the wifey?

What is the suspension like that truck? Is it set up for air ride? Because I noticed the notch (who couldn't) and it made me wonder what was done to that truck.

looks good, but as Steve said we need more pictures. He is driving the Harbody, but it needs a new carrier Berring.

I'll be putting airride under it. I'm driving the Hardbody with a bad carrier bearing still. Wife has the trailblazer. I will definately get rid of the Nissan after this is driveable. I still can't beleive how clean the interior is.

The interior is pretty nice....just dirty. Need both front piller pieces, system and headliner. The rest is still there. The hood needs some finishing work. Under the hood needs cleaned up and some misc pieces to be complete. I won't talk about the over cut coilsprings and the stacked 3 inch bocks and gutted spring pack...lol!

That sounds like a safe suspension to me. And if you need any thing, just let me know. I may have some stuff for that truck for you that I could give you for the price of shipping.

Great 1st gen. I miss out one the other day for $500. It was primered black and slammed to the ground. It only last for a few days before someone snatched it up.

Interior looks good and so do the gauges. I had a parts truck that had all the pieces you probably would have needed but I scrapped the truck for cash.

I'll get rid of them eventually.

how much are you thinking of getting rid of the wheels for?

Ryan
12-09-2007, 05:19 PM
My uncle drove by a house with these cragars ss for sale. He stopped and asked and the guy wanted 50$ for 4 rims with tires. There was some surface rust on then but he got it off. Just wish he would sell then to me. lol

What are these 2 holes for on the driverside of the radiator?

Ryan
12-09-2007, 08:39 PM
aren't those holes there for the tranny lines to run to. cools the tranny fluid

The tranny lines are on the passanger side of the radiator.

BadToad454

That side is for the oil lines .

Should they be there? I've had it running for a short time and it never leaked

Yah that makes a lot more sence lol.

BadToad454
12-09-2007, 10:11 PM
Who knows what they did to the truck . Some trucks have the remote oil filter up by the air filter ( mine ) . And some have the lines that go to the radiator , some dont .

12-09-2007, 10:54 PM
Well the motor won't run as of today so I don't know much more. Pulled the plugs on the driverside and they look bad so I'll change them and go from there.

12-10-2007, 02:34 AM
If you need an engine i could sell you mine, my truck hasnet moved in 2 months. all you would need is to replace the rear main seal before putting it in.

Nice find by the way it looks like it has alot of potential.

Installed new plugs today and got the motor running. Thing is only the driverside injector is working. The other one is not puting out fuel at all. No drip or nothing. Anybody have an idea on this problem?

Next on to the tranny. Since I knew the tranny leaked I checked the fluid and of cousre it was low. Filled it up and th tranny worked perfectly in both forward and reverse. The bad thing is it's leaking real bad. Right on the exhaust and causing alot of smoke.

BadToad454

Well kind of an update. I was curious and took the wiring off the injector that was working and put it on the one that wasn't working. Cranked on the key and it worked. Weird. So I'm not sure what's going on.I just noticed I have a check engine light on so I'll get that read soon

Started tearing the front suspension apart today. I've got 1 more bolt to get out and the lower control arm will come out. (it's seized to the bushing) Also I didn't notice but I have staggered rims. 14's up front and 15's in the rear.
Also I have to figure out what to do with the crushed y-pipe.

did you end up getting the other side injectors to work. Are you bagging the truck all the way around?

97v8s10
12-27-2007, 11:14 PM
Not yet. Haven't messed with it much. To cold. Yes to the bag question.

Ryan
12-28-2007, 08:02 AM
I feel the same way lol. I realy need a new heater. It's just to cold. My truck hates starting without the choke set now.

back to the injectors, if both sides of the wiring work on the good injector then the non functioning injector is probably toast. if its a 4.3 I believe you can grab a injector out of a 5.7L TBI in the junk yard.

97v8s10
01-02-2008, 09:58 PM
If I pull the wiring off the one that works and hook it to the one that doesn't it works. Which leads me to think it's either the wiring or the computer. I need to break out the tester and check for voltage while cranking.
