The following steps will help you adjust your third door when on latch is releasing befor the other. This will cause the handle to break if it is not adjusted. Plus, it can just be a pain to deal with. These instructions are only for those doors that are funcitonal.
Some latches break on the lower part of the door and then you can not open the door. I will try to get something posted on how to fix this or someone may post it as well.
If you handle is broken and you need to open the door simply pull up on the bottom rod and down on the top rod to release the top and bottom latches.
Adjusting the door will not fix the air noise problem on the leading edge of the drivers side door. That is a GM wonder.
HOW TO ADJUST YOUR THIRD DOOR:
Determine what the door is doing, Is the top releasing before the bottom, which is common.
If the top is releasing first then you will want to adjust the bottom clip on the rod:
Remove the housing screws and unclip the top and bottom clips:
Turn it one turn clockwise looking down the shaft. This will make the handle pull up on the bottom rod earlier
If it is the bottom releasing first and then the top you will want to turn the bottom clip one turn counter clock wise.
This will release the bottom later.
You will want to adjust one turn at a time. The handle when pulled should release the door evenly at the same time and at the beginning of the pull and not at the later, meaning that once you get the door adjusted to evenly open both latches at the same time then you may have to do the following:
Once you have adjusted the door and it is opening smoothly and evenly but, it is releasing almost at the end of the handle travel... you will want to adjust both the top and the bottom at the same time as follows.
Turn the top clip one turn at a time counter clockwise this will move the clip up.
Turn the bottom clip clockwise this will move the clip down
Doing this will adjust the travel of the handle in relation to releasing the door.
I know that this seems difficult, just make sure you follow the directions on which on to turn and only one turn at a time.
You do not need to reinstall the housing screws to test the handle, simply place the clips in the housing and put the housing in the door.
With holding the housing with one had squeeze the handle with the other, the door should open smoothly with a small pop after about a 1/4" of travel.
Good Luck~! :D
