Over the last few days I have been smelling gear oil inside my blazer. Last night I finally had a chance to look at the front diff. and discovered gear oil all over it and every thing else near it. I guess I am going to have to pull the diff. and tear it down. It is probably a bad seal. This isn't first time I have seen one of these leak. My ex-girlfriend's Bravada did the same thing but I kick her to the curb before I had a chance to fix it. I wonder if I pull the front axles, diff., and the front driveshaft can I still drive the blazer in 2wd with no harm.

i would do it. nothing in the 4wd system is connected to the steering or suspension in a way that would have a negative effect from them not being there.

Give Er' Nuts, Gas!!
I have taken out my CV's just to save fuel mileage driving to work and back.
(Anywhere from 55 miles, too 380 miles)
makes a big difference, it doesn't hurt anything,
and it makes the front end feel lighter!!!
