This is for anybody who has installed an e-fan:
1.) What brand did you buy?
2.) How easy was the installation?
3.) Did you notice any improvement in power gains/gas mileage?

Just curious as to what an e-fan will gain me before i actually spend the money and buy one :)

I have the flexalite #60 for s10's. It pulls about 13 amps, so you need a good battery. I have an optima red top. It's super easy to put on. Just takes some electrical knowledge. Improves gas mileage some and also mid to top end power. Gets rid of the parasitic drag of the stock fan. Great investment. Don't go cheap and try to find a junk yard fan and rig it up. Go with one that fits and has a thermostat and a/c relay like the one from Flexalite (FAL). You can get rid of the stock lower fan shroud but keep the upper portion. you have to cut off the curved part that went around the stock fan. THis keeps air from being pulled from between the radiator and condensor. That's bad for the a/c

THis fan is about $210 from summit racing. 1 800 230 3030. I got mine new off ebay for $155, so check there first. He bought it and never installed it, so i got a deal. :)

I also have a Flex-a-lite #60. I noticed a big difference in MPG and power. Mostly mid to high, but you can feel it all thru the whole powerband. Tonight was really the first night where I got on it pretty good and there was a huge difference in acceleration.

Also, my MPG went up from about 29 to over 33...when I first got it I calculated it to be 34.5...up from 29 but I haven't calculated it to be that high since...but its still up about 3.5 - 4 mpg for me, so thats awesome. Overall I think its one of the best mods you can do for the money. $215 isn't that much to spend considering what you get. Plus, after getting the old clutch fan off, which let me add is a bitch, its a very straight-forward install. You hafta have a little electrical knowledge but its not hard cuz you get decent install instructions which include a wiring diagram. If you need any help with the install, a bunch of people on here including myself will guide you thru the steps.

Clutch fan comes off a WHOLE LOT BETTER if you at least borrow the proper tools from Auto Zone or Advance, me I own my own!!

Get a battery terminal stack end where you can add as many extras as you like.
Red to Pos on battery
Neg ONLY to neg battery- Dont frame ground unless you HAVE TO.
Get some mini jumpers that go over mini fuses to put terminal ends onto.
Find the ignition fuse, rear side toward firewall is the key on hot side, terminal the switched wire according the the instructions to it.
Splce for the AC is straight forward and need a pair of decent pliers to add it. Tape the connection very good 2 inches over each end TIGHT!

Leave the bottom shroud piece in. Take the top shroud piece off, list the rad slight, slide the bottom section of the flex 60 in and re-add the top shroud.

Make sure you turn down to the left the stat control and add a piece of tightly fitting rubber hose to the adjusting knob, makes it easier to find and turn.

Start it up and run it to full temp. Leave the key on but turn the truck off. Adjust the stat control until the fan comes on, done unless you want it to come on earlier and then you can play from there!

See how easy that sounds, really is too!

hey thanks guys this really helps. it doesn't sound too bad except for getting the old power-sapping fan off. right now it feels like i go absolutely nowhere unless i rev the engine up REALLY hard. i have some electrical experience so i don't think that will be any problem, that and my cousin in a mechanic so if i screw it up he can fix it :D
