i have tires that are 235/40/18...i was wondering what was the averrage life span of tires these size and which wears faster?...the rear...or the front...

Fronts always wear out 2-3 times faster than rears. Thats why you rotate them every 5 K or so to even the wear out. Wear also is based on the hardness of the tire which is a number on the side. Higher the number, which is tread wear in a 200-300+ number, the longer it will last. 15K-65K is the range span of tires. The shorter the side wall the more pressure is excerts in the tread to try to hold it down, the faster those will wear even with a high tread number!! 15k-25K is probably the most you'll ever see outta a 17+ rim size tire!

on my motorcycle i am supposed to get 15k per rear tire...i get 3k...my front tire is supposed to get 30k and i get like 8k....so as you can tell i am rough on tires....but its more fun that way

my 245/45/17's last about 15K miles of normal driving.
the 15's on my 350 S-10 lasted 3K miles, but thats a different story.
