Picking up the ls1 tomorrow 01' vette motor will be gathering all my nuts till spring

well guys the new v8 is on its way will be pickin it up tomorrow. Not sure on a lot of things I will be using off the 4.3. Not sure about the trans if it will bolt right up to it still lots of research to do b4 it gets warm enough to start. Some clearance issues have been considered but not all Im sure of that. Anybody with some helpfull info on what trans to use if not my old 4l60. oh by the way its an 02' blazer extreme.

in order to bolt up your transmission to an ls1 you will either need a special torque converter to designed to mate your trans and engine together or a spacer designed to go between the flexplate and a normal torque converter for your trans.

the reason for this is that the front to back distance from the trans mounting surface on the block to the back of the flexplate is greater on the ls1 than on the 4.3....also the torque converter bolt pattern may be slightly different

disclaimer: i have not actually done this, so this is just what i have gathered from some research as i have considered doing this swap, so just take this as something to do research from and not a final word

ordered h3 5.3 oil pan pickup tube indicator windage tray and screen but the screen is on national backorder according to gmpartsdirect.com so will have to wait on that one gonna try and order from a dealer (inside connections).

just curious, but about how much money have you, or will you invest in doing this swap?
