Here is a list of the leaf springs your truck or SUV can come standard with. Over the years I've been in enough junkyards to hopefully have the entire list down and generally what the RPO code stands for.

Trucks (S10, Sonoma, Hombre)
2wd, RPO code Z83 (smooth ride, 3 leaf pack usually found on GMC's or special order Chevy)
2wd, RPO code Z85 (increased capacity 3-4 leaf pack, usually found on Chevy's or special order GMC)
2wd, RPO code ZQ8 (sport suspension, stiffer springs with less arch for lower ride height)
4x4, RPO code Z85 (increased capacity 3-4 leaf pack, usually found on Chevy's or special order GMC)
4x4, RPO code ZR2 (off-road package, more arch to the leafs, increased lift and ride height, comes in 3-4 leaf packs with greater load capacity than all other springs)

SUV (Blazer, BlaZeR2, Jimmy, Bravada, Envoy and the like)
2 Door RPO code ZR2 (off-road package, more arch to the leafs, thus increased lift and ride height, comes in 3-4 leaf packs)
2 Door RPO code Z87 (least amount of arch, low rider, 3 leaf pack with no overload bar)
2 Door, RPO code Z83 (smooth ride, 3 leaf pack usually found on GMC's or special order Chevy)
2 Door, RPO code Z85 (increased capacity 3-4 leaf pack, usually found on Chevy's or special order GMC)
2 Door, RPO code ZM6 (off road 4 leaf pack found on 4x4 models only)
4 Door, RPO code Z83 (smooth ride, 3 leaf pack usually found on GMC's or special order Chevy)
4 Door, RPO code Z85 (increased capacity 3-4 leaf pack, usually found on Chevy's or special order GMC)
4 Door, RPO code ZM6 (off road 4 leaf pack found on 4x4 models only)
4 Door, RPO code ZW7 (premium smooth ride found on Envoy and Bravada or special order Jimmy)

If anyone with an Xtreme Blazer would like to chime in, I have yet to see one in a junkyard so I don't have the RPO codes they come with. That's the only one I'm missing.

Z87 is the suspension code for the 1.5" drop.

I like how I'm done in post count again below 6k. I wonder what threads of mine keep getting deleted?

I have the ZW7 and its special order. But not too as the original owner whom I bought it off of has lots of special order because its an SLE (mid level) with over head console, power driver and passenger side seats, and little extras like that.

Have a question about the Z85. While replacing the fuel pump (took the box off because it's easier than dropping the tank), I noticed a "hop shock". I do have the Z85 rpo code. Is this to help with the High Capacity?

When looking for this "shock" at auto stores, anyone know what the technical term for it is?

Sorry.... it's a 1997 S10, 4.3L CSEFI, gu4(3.08) rear diff gear ratio.

The 3rd shock in the back is solely to help control axle wrap and axle hop during hard acceleration from a dig. Usually they're only found on ZQ8 trucks but looking through Napa's list of codes says a few Z85 trucks got them. Just have them look up the 3rd hop shock in the rear and they'll have it.
