Yea, I forgot I was supposed to hold the button so it could adjust, instead of just clicking it. I will snap another pic tomorrow or cople days of the gauges for ya'll. Ill have to ask the previous owner where there from.

Looks like a nice truck. What's under the hood? Also please tell me it has a NOS brand nitrous system in it. If it doesn't the first thing I would do is peal off the sticker. And if it actually has NOS nitrous, pealing that sticker would be the second thing I did right after I tried the nitrous out.

HAHAHA!! I know. I do have nitrous for it:devil: I was goin to remove the stickers but didnt have any goof off at the moment and didnt wanna sit there right then and scratch them off, I decided I wanted to wash/wax/clean. Good thing I did to cause it rained shortly after. But yes, the stickers WILL come off SOON.

Its the H.0. 4.3. Has K/N FIPK Intake, a aftermarket muffler with side exit exhuast, exhaust cut-out, 180* thermostat and Hypertech Programmer. Also has 245/50/16 tires.

Its auto. Very fun to drive.

HELL YEA!!! I'll wait a while and cruise with the 4.3, maybe wait til it gets old or blows, or if I come into some money. But I'll swap in a built motor this time.

That reminds me. I was behind a black S10 SS (a real one) the other day. It was being used as a flag truck for a mobile home moving company. It was a little beat up with the two huge yellow flags sticking up over the cab and a "WIDE LOAD" banner attached to the tailgate. It even still had the original 16" wheels on it. Quite a sad sight.

the SS trucks came in white, black, and red only. they were also only regular cab trucks and automatics. they made a 98 model but was replaced in 99 by the xtreme. so if you see an extended cab, a manual, or another color, most likely its a knock off. however, people can paint vehicles and i even read in a minitruckin issue where a guy converted one to a 6 speed with an lt1.

By all means, i was not trying to call him out on having a fake SS. i was just curious about what years they made them. so i hope nobody got the wrong idea from my comment. :rolleyes:

Speaking of trucks with a 6 speed, there is an S-10 (1999?) on eBay right now with a built 396ci small block Corvette engine and he has a 6 speed to go with it. Bid is around $11,000 and it's in Texas. Very nice truck from the description.

UPDATE: I removed the NOS stickers today, so now you fellas can sleep tonight.


I was looking thru the box of the stock parts I got with the truck and the gauges are APC pieces.

Man, I love the shift points on this truck, none of the automatic vehicles I remeber driving were able to downshift easily from part-throttle. It doesnt have the G80 codes, but it loves to blow smoke from both fenderwells:D as I let the silverados check out my rollpan. :devil:

As for the SS part, It also doesnt have the B4U code, but it was ordered from the dealer with the SS badges, I guess the dealer just wanted a quick sell and thru them on.

i had a transgo shift kit in my trans am, huge difference! if you rebuild the trans and go with a v8, you should look into the transgo kit.

No problems, :cool:, I know all about the differences of a real SS, I was hoping to see the RPO code for it in the glovebox, but its fine. the truck has enough of the same parts the SS came with for me.

Very nice truck. I love the blue, if I had the money I'd probably get my Noma a similar blue or like my dad's silverado. And the tailights are nice too. That's a really good find, now if only I could find S-series trucks like that around my area :rolleyes:
