95 s10 4.3vortec -cpi. modified intake with cone filter, flowmaster delta40 series, high flow cat as well.. i was told by the guy at autozone that adding these exhaust changes without adjusting my timing would cause me to have more carbon buildup. i aslo usually use 89 or 91 octane gas. should i be using cheap stuff at the pump, and what about the timing?
thanks

The guy is wrong, you do not need to adjust your timing.

He is wrong. I run a modified intake, high flowcat, and performance muffler like you and it will not mess anything up. The ECU can handle the slight difference and hp gain from it easily, so rest easy :) .

Besides, if your ECM is under the hood (later 95's) then you have a locked distributor and can't adjust it anyway... That said, the guy was full of it..
