By the way that's on Page 7 of the PDF file.
Bummer, no manual with the 5.3L...oh wheel, high stall converter will work.

Now I have something to spend my savings on. I think the only thing I'd change though is remove the drums on the back and either swap in a Trailblazer/Envoy rear axle or bolt on their disc brakes. I believe they both have the same rear end, just one's coil sprung the other is leaf sprung.

Axle length maybe different, but I believe they are the same.

What's nice about the 6x5" bolt pattern is that I can find a nice set of Trailblazer SS wheels or something to bolt on. The 15's have got to go.

Bah Humbug. I hope that's not right. Why does GM have to push my 2 favorite vehicles back so far! The Camaro and 5.3 Canyon.

Read the FINE PRINT on page 7, note 2.

Yeah it is a bummer that they do not offer the 5.3 in regular cab or standard. One thing I did found very interesting is that they are offering the 5.3 with a 4.10 rear end. What does GM have up there sleeves with that? Maybe a SS Colorado in the future or a real extreme Xtreme?

Probably something to do with the Z71 off-road package and larger tires. It was in the application guide for the Canyon but I really don't think it'll come true. There is no need for GM to stuff 4.10's into a <4000lb vehicle with a 5.3L and 30" tires. They'll probably offer 3.42's and 3.73's just like they always have.
The excepted reason amongst GM fans is that a V8 motor in a 3100lb regular cab truck would put the speed pecking order out of place, making full size trucks look really slow. Heaven forbid that GM makes a fast AND useful truck! They did the same thing with the Sy/Ty. Once people were figuring out it could beat a Corvette with half the cost, their production run ended.

I hope and pray to see the Colorado SS.....

They also said the 4.10s were for 2wd too so maybe just maybe GM has some performance in mind.
