It's like the old El Caminos they used to make. I have a 1967 in the garage. Hopefully they won't make it so expensive we can't afford it.

No, I haven't seen any advertisements yet. I've read some online at a GM news site. Looks like it will be a fun vehicle. We need something nice to use and modify after the S-10 trucks.

Found this on a Google search:
No El Camino for you! Pontiac pickup will be named G8 ST

Mike Levine over at Pickuptruck.com has managed to scoop a tasty nugget of info about the Pontiac-branded ute that will soon be for sale in the U.S. The Aussie-import based on the same platform as the rear-wheel-drive G8 sedan will be called the G8 ST, as in "Sport Truck".
That pang of disappointment you feel is the missed opportunity of paying homage to GM's most well known car-based pickups and their colorful names: the Chevy El Camino and GMC Caballero. Rather than dubbing Pontiac's ute the "Tamale" or "El Camino Redux", we get a measly little two-letter suffix. Sigh.
Also of note is that the pickup will only be available with a 6.0L V8 and is likely to start around $31,000.

That car/truck is sexy. Now that makes 3 car/trucks (Cobalt SS Turbo, Colorado V8, and now the G8 ST) for me to pick from in 2010 when I am ready to buy a new car. GM is really doing something right these days.

For some reason, they just don't do it for me. You would never catch me in one of those. JMO

Are they the same as the Holden Ute made in Australia for years? Same look, same engine... Oh that true, they are part of the big GM family, so it must be the same :p

Yeah, there had been earlier rumour as this coming over to be the GMC Caballero. The thing is, we seem to have a taste for some rather impractical things. CAFE ratings are another issue with bringing these things into production too.
