wondering who makes a good header for a 97' 4.3 automatic that will give me the good flow needed for a supercharger. I'm gonna be buying the base vortech kit for the s10 to start which only gives you 8-9 psi but am looking to eventually upgrade to the V-7 ysi-trim if it's workable wich runs up to 30 psi. is this possiable and if so what headers or even full exhaust system would work good for this application. (yes i know your all gonna say im wasting my time on an automatic but i love the truck to much to trade it in now and i see a lot of potential in it)

First off, before you do any serious engine work, prepare the driveline. Otherwise, you're going to have a lot of broken parts.
Set up the axle with a 3.70, 3.90, or 4.11 gear set, depending on your type of driving. In town/racing go with the 4.11. If maintaining some fuel economy, or most of your driving is highway, go with the 3.70. Limited slip is a must.
Rebuild the trans. Use the V8 clutch pack. See about the Vette shift controls that allow full throttle in overdrive. Invest in a high-stall lock-up convertor. Just don't go too high. A thermostat controlled cooler is a must.
Then build your engine. You'll need forged or billet bottom end when you go to the V-7 ysi-trim set-up. You'll also need to drop the compression ratio to about 8:1.
As for headers, for maximum power you want low restriction, which means big pipes, which kills low speed drivability. Exhaust tuning means little with blown engines, just worry about back pressure.
The point is, you're going about your build backwards. Engine work is the last thing you do. Otherwise, you'll be very frustrated with broken parts.
