good and cheap don't really go together. find a quality kit for a good price.

You are looking at around 300 for a stock replacement, and around 450 for a centerforce.....add in installation and your bill is at least 750...congrats. I had my centerforce reconditioned 2 weeks ago, since I only warped it.....LOL. Now $200 later, my truck will once again snap the speedo like crazy. Glad to see some more 4.3L 5sp's on here

BTW, upgrade while you are at it!!!! It is worth it, and you will kick youself later if you don't

Hey austin check this website out, you can get a centerforce clutch kit for $277. as for if you go for just your standard clucth you should expect to pay between $500-$800 (and up to a $1000 if you have your clutch slave and master cly. replaced) I just had my clutch replaced and it cost like $550 for my heavy-duty clutch. (and it has a hell of a lot more clamping force then my last clutch, which came standard on the truck) I went 100k miles before i had to replace the OE clutch  . I didnt have a single problem till the end. crazy huh. heres the site.

Why online? O'reilly's has the clutch kit for $183, probably in stock. Figure $30-$50 to get the flywheel resurfaced, and 5 or 6 hours labor. Unless you hot rod/rag out your truck (a bad idea anyway) stock is fine. Unless you're making so much power that you're overcoming the friction/clamping force of the stock clutch (trust me, you're not) the hi-po clutches are completely unnecessary.

change your slave cylinder while your in there. and make sure you do the pilot bearing...... esp if you truck makes the "whirling" noise while its in neutral w/ your foot off the clutch.

yea im gonna get a kit, defently gonna get a good aftermarket kit..gonna buy a better flywheel...gonna do all the stuff while im there. i'm gonna do the work myself, i'm actually a diesel mechanic for Coastal International Truck Inc. so i got plenty of garage space to do so.Kinda cool because we have 6 s10's, used mainly for parts delievery, so i get to mess around with those when they need work done. makes its easier for me when i need to do stuff to my truck. :) but thanks for the suggestions.

Tell me what kind of flywheel you get. I am after a much lighter replacement...I hate 30lb flywheels!!!
