The 1997 S10 that replaced my 1993

Traded in my rust bucket of an S10 for this beauty. It has the 4.3L Vortec which has some power! 5 Speed Tranny, Ext. Cab with the optional 3rd door (which I LOVE!).

The only difference between this one and my 93 is that this is only a 2WD. I figure it wasnt worth the extra money for me to get a 4WD.

I just want to clarify something. I am getting 23 city mpg and 27 highway mpg. And this is the 4.3L. Not that I am complaining, but does anyone else get this? I do know that I have the 3.08 gear ratio. God blesses in the weirdest ways, eh?

I have the EXACT truck you have. Same engine, diff, and trans. You are getting better gas mileage than I am but I have done a few mild mods on mine also. I have the same rust issues on the extended cab also. I get 19 if I am lucky on the MPG
