I was welding up the holes where my squiters used to be...got in a hurry on the passenger side and warped it, it looks like one of the glue things on the underside of it broke, so I was thinkging that i could push it back down and tack it in place then smooth it out with body filler, has anyone ever had this problem, or have any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated

never encountered this problem however when i removed a dent from the rear of the cab near the side window, i pulled it out best i could and used filler with some color matched to fix it. Mine came out like i never did the repair so i assume that it would work for the hood as well, though i don't know if how big the warp is and how it will affect the structural integrity of the hood. all the warping in the metal as your bending it back may less stiff i suppose the word would be and make it easier to rewarp and so on.... but thats only an opinion i'm not very educated on body work just going on redneck inginuity.

ok here it goes....warping metal sux because its super hard to get it back to right again...you have 2 choices first ya heat the surface and then take a cold rag and put it on IMEDATELY after you stop heating...im talkin right a freakin way....heating the metal makes it flexable and the cooling makes it constrict ...drawing up the extra metal that caused the warp...but this is very hard to do unless you know exactly what your doing. secong choice is fill the living crap outa it with body filler...its not the best way but your only other option would be to buy a new hood. if ya have any other questions hit me up and ill do i can for ya

if u wanna really pop it fast i have a friend who uses dry ice to do this.. u know the shit all those ice cream punks ride around with in the 3 wheeled bikes!? after u heat it up u can uses dry ice to pop it just like the wet rag idea abouve, but be careful dry ice can damage your paint... i'd say put it in a ziploc bag and wrap[ it in a damp cloth and try it... if u can find the dry ice of course... i'll try to find out from my buddy how he does it exactly.. good luck!

I warped my tailgate when welding up the handle. To this day it still isnt straight. Warping really sucks yeah...We ended up using a lot of fiberglass style filler and also using a spot-welder...I cant remember the name of the tool for the life of me but its basically a big heavy gun that tacks a rod to the surface of the metal, and you do a bunch of them all over the area that is in question, and pulling up on all of them a little bit makes all the metal come up.
I would say just buy a new hood...and this time when you do it just take your time
Unless your a body man, you're not going to be able to do much about the warp.
Sorry I couldnt help any more

It's called a stud welder, and you put what basically looks like a nail in the head of it and put it to the area, pull the trigger and boom you have a stud sticking outta the area, than you use a slide hammer (this tool grabs ahold of the stud and you slide the handle backwards until it hits the stop and this pulls the dent out. but be very careful using this method because just as easy as you pull it out you can pull it out too far and you'll have the opposite of what you had before... Good luck man but I would try to find another hood at a junk yard or something.

Here's a link you might want to consider, you can get a new hood for $82.00. its easier and a lot less hassle to fix.

What's that hood gonna cost him with shipping though? If you don't mind aftermarket, go to your local supplier (keystone if you have one nearby) and get a replacement. I'd try to find a used stock hood 'cause aftermarket sucks.
