I have a 2000 s-10 with the 4.3 and the intake gasket is blown. Anyone ever attempted to replace the gasket? If so, what do you do about the distributor? Does it pull straight out? If anyone could guide me through this it would help alot.

It is very rare for an Intake gasket to go bad, especially on a engine as new as yours. You might want to confirm that you do have a bad gasket before you spend all that time changing the gasket just to see that it was not your problem.
The work can be done in a day. You should put the engine in TDC and mark where your distributor is so you can put it in the same position allthough I believe the newer ones only have one position. other than that is just tearing up and reassemble.

aight dude i can help you i just did mine and it runs great,
of corse take off all that pritty shiny confusing bull $hit on the top of her and remove the belt and ac compressor and loosn the bracket it sits on so u can tilt it forward, take off the throttle body, and that little plastic mini intake and to do that u have to unhook the fuel lines, just dont turn the key when ther off, ull see them once the throttle bodys off, un do the heater hose from the manafold and un bolt it, dont worry bout top dead center just try not to turn the motor once u pull the distibuter out and mark it very carefully once out dont turn it and draw a line on the part that spins on the gear and on the still shaft so it slides back in and on time. pick up the manafold and clean it then put the new gaskets on and reasmble just make shure u get all the wires back in like the little plug on the back of the cap and rotor i for got that one and had a bad miss fire then found it un pluged. any questions let me know :D
