ive got a 94 4.3l w series and it doesnt seem to be a problem but just curious what you guys think about it running at about 145* to 160 all day long unless i sit in one spot for a while. i checked my gauge and its fine the weird thing is that i live in arizona and it stays that cool when its 115 outside. i dont even have to turn on my fan

my 4.3 runs at about 150-160 thats in maine and it doesn't matter how hot or cold it is it hits and stays on that temp when the motor warms up.

I would recommend changing in a new thermostat. At that low of engine temperature the tendency for more sludge buildup in the oil valley and pan is increased. The engine will operate better and fuel mileage will be increased at a more normal operating range of 180-195 degrees. :)
