how much hp

i recently bought a 91 s15,4x4,,4.3 what is the base hp for this engine. its not new 116,213miles but runs pretty good. also what is the quickest,easiest thing to do to make a little more hp....will fliping the air cleaner lid change anything or will it just destroy something?

The 4.3 in your blazer puts out 160 hp (heres where I got my info http://mys10.net/about.php?page=s10_history) as for fliping your lid it works awsome. It wont harm anything dirt will not get past the filter because when its tightend down the lid makes a perfect seal. clean the lid befeore you do this though. it also sounds cool at full throttle and it gives you better MPG, and the best part you can feel the diffrence when you step on the gas.

if i flip my air lid around it`s against my hood.does anybody elses do that?

I flipped mine and it clears the stock hood just fine. 1994 s-10, u do get a little more power and it does sound better

I flipped my lid for a while and then went out muddin so I flipped it back so it wouldn't get caked over. Once I got back on the street I didn't feel much change in HP but it wasn't as loud. When I flipped it back, I didn't notice a big power increase, but it just sounds cool. I also didn't notice an increase in MPG, but since it sounds cool with the gas on the floor that could be why :D
