View Full Version : Muffler change
Would I be able to get any better sound from my exhaust by just cutting off the stocker and welding in glasspack, turbo, or flowmaster? Just seeing if there is any chance to get a cheap little rumble to my 4cyl.
thanks
anyting with higher flow than stock will add some rumble. I'd go with a flowmaster delta flow, 40 or 50 series. 50 is a little quieter than 40. 40 is a 2 chamber, 50 is a 3 chamber(longer)

I got a magnaflow on my 4 cyl. and i has a nice rumble to it. Plus magnaflow has better flow than a flowmaster.
Oh, I guess another question. What size is our piping on the 4cyl. Should I get the 2.25 or 2.5 inlet. And is ebay a good place to find the 40 series flowmaster. YOu can get them for around 50-60 Shipped
Thanks

I think 2.5, but it has been so long.....if you want a rumble cut the cat off and put a flowmaster 40 on it..........

I've got a glasspack on mine with no cat, but it sounds ricey. Does the flowmaster sound ricey also.

I had new 2.5inch catback exhaust ran with one of those round turbo mufflers for $85 at a local exhaust shop it sounds pretty good. Muffler should be cheap.
Not so rice like it did when I had the glasspack on the factory plus its a pain to get the glass pack in the factory exhaust cause of the offset.

Cutting the cat don't cause any O2 sensor codes I might do that.
