I've read some of the recent threads on the LS1 swap, but i have been told that the LS1 is to wide for the frame rails on a 2nd gen S10, is this true? I want to get the engine and computer and wire harness from a late model Camaro and drop it into my 01 S10. i have a 4.3 already and i know that Corvette and Camaros with autmatic use the 4L60E tranny thats already in my truck. so common sense tells me that if i can shove the LS1 in the truck and use the existing tranny mounts, that i could maintain the existing driveline. swap in the camaro computer and let the truck think its a Camaro. Am i crazy or does this make any sense. any help would be apreciated
