I need to know if the V8 swap book that is sold on this sight includes info on putting a V8 in an 03 S10. Like all the wireing and stuff for the computer so it will still pass inspections in Texas which tests emissions?
no, the book will not cover the wiring or computer.

You can't use your PCM. You will have to use the PCM from the engine you are swapping in.
Check your smog laws (if you have any). You may be required to install an engine newer than the one in your truck (in which case your only option will be a 5.3L truck motor or an LS1/LS2/LS6.
Don't forget to budget the motor mount adapter plates for the LSx motor.
If you swap an LT1 the swap will be a bit more straightforward but it may not pass emissions/visual.

In Texas the new engine must be the same year as the vehicle or newer, and all pollution controls must be installed and functional, right down to the OBDII.
Your best bet is to buy a total. Otherwise, all the bits and pieces will bankrupt you.

There ya go.
If I were you I'd buy an old car and swap an EFI powertrain in. Like me :)
You can do the swap but getting a 2003+ powertrain will be pretty expensive. If you can't crank your own wrenches expect to pay around $8-10,000 for the swap complete. It isn't as simple as just dropping in a new motor. You have to budget for fuel system changes, driveline (driveshaft length, new motor mounts), exhaust, etc.
My $0.02,
Colin

Here in MD the engine that is being swaped in has to be an option for that model vehicle as well, not sure for your state though.

Note to self>Never live in MD, no legal S10 V8s.
