Has anyone had any experience putting in a v-8 SBC into an S-10 pick-up that has the ZQ8 front suspension ( lowering springs, gas shocks) ?
I am considering the v-8 swap and need to know if these springs can handle the job without affecting the suspension performance.
Thanks,
OJ

the motor may drop it another 1/2 an inch to maybe a full inch. but that is a big maybe on the inch no more than an inch. the stock springs r stuff enough to handle the weight pretty good......... what r u think of putting in a 305 or 350?

Closer to an inch. The ZQ8 springs are slightly softer than standard springs so drop a little more. Changing over to drop shocks is highly recommended if you keep the lowered ride height and cut the bump stop for more travel. Using the Stealth or Mike's mounts and sliding the engine back as far as possible, plus aluminum intake, heads, and water pump, e-fan, and moving the battery behind the right rear wheel will help a lot, and improve handling, braking, and holeshot.

Gentlemen:
Thank you for your responses.
I'll be putting in a 350 TPI out of a 91 Firebird.
