If you do not have the 2.8 V6 in your truck, you'll need to buy a set of 2.8 V6 mounts. The adapters bolt between the V8 engine and the 2.8 mounts. You can buy the 2.8 mounts here:

cuz it says the kit is for a 2.8 v6 and they dont make a 2.8 v6 for the 98 and up models so i was assuming they were for the older body style, also i dont even have a 2.8 i have a 2.2 so i was assuming it wont fit even with the 2.8 frame mounts...

no, it says if your truck doesn't have the 2.8 you need the 2.8 frame mounts.

can i suggest you do some more research and buy the manual before you purchase any parts.

The frames for the S10's are almost identical for the whole series of trucks. ALL frame mounts bolt in exactly the same way (Blazers and Jimmys excluded), so even though your truck never came with a 2.8 from the factory, the 2.8 frame mounts will fit in the place of your 2.2 mounts.

BUY THE BOOK. It will answer all your questions, and if they aren't answered there, this forum and Mike's other site will.

A V8 conversion is not a "drop in" or "bolt in" or anything like that. It is a very long, detailed (but do-able) process.
