i've got a 2" Goodmark Cowl Induction hood and I want to make my intake work so that the air actually comes thru the cowl. I thought about ripping out my old intake snake (on a 2.2L) and just making something that fits right to the throttle body so i can mount an air filter but i don't know if i have the clearance. Anybody else have any ideas?

Seeing you dont have a MAF to deal with, you could build a pan inside the cowl section of the hood that foam sealed to a funnel/duct from the TB. Then mount the IAT sensor into this pan and wire it close to the firewall!

A maf is a Mass Airflow Sensor. It has a super heated wire that stays at a constant temp, as air flows by it(like when driving) it cools. The computer reads how much it's cooled from it's set constant temp and the knows how much fuel to add to get the perfect mix.
