If I'm posting here, it's a 2.2, obviously. :) 95 ext cab, 5spd.
OK, so I had to replace a spark plug (vanished mysteriously... and I'm just too lazy to put in all 4, they're kinda nasty to get to and it's hot in a Phoenix parking lot) and here about a thousand miles later, I come across an interesting(annoying) dillemma. The spark plug fell out. Feels like it took almost all the threads out of the block. So now I sound like a lawn mower- but at least I know I have good compression.
I just shelled out some MAJOR cash on a new engine, so I really have no interesting in putting a lot of money into this one, except that I need this truck to get me around for about a week, then get me back home to LA so I can start the swap. That's really it. Not even a thousand miles sum total.
I could probably helicoil it but I don't want to go through the effort of pulling off the head, since I'm almost finished with the engine swap in the mazda. Think jb weld would hold it? Maybe a different, thicker plug and just jam the sucker in there? I know it won't run as well and that's fine. I'd just like to have four cylinders and my still unbelievably wretched gas milage back, rather than going through a 1/4 tank in 20 miles.
