does anyone know the 1/4 mile time for a 2000(ish) 4.3 automatic regular cab stock. im too lazy to go to the track.
Low to mid 16 most likely.
My best time so far has been 16.8 and I have a few bolt-ons.

15.7-16.0
15.7-16.0
Closer to the 16.0, maybe even a little higher.

A few years ago before my S10 was mine (it was in the family since new, I bought it about 5 months ago) I tested a few cars 'w a Gtech Pro I had.
My ex-91 Topaz 2.3L i4 3-speed Auto did 18.3s in the 1/4mi
The 01 S10 4.3L v6 Extended Cab short box did 16.6s in the 1/4mi
Buddy's 02 Sebring LX 2.7L V6 Auto did 16.4s
Buddy's 92 Saturn Something or other 4cyl auto did 18.2s
The S10 held up quite well, it was fun controlling the wheel spin, and if U did a better launch the times were better.
The runs were made on a remote road (middle of nowhere) and an average of 4 runs was done in both directions (to reduce wind and slope of road effects)
The Gtech Pros are really cheap now, and they're a good tool for finding out how your vehicle is doing.
If you know your exact weight, you can have the gtech find your hp that your engine is putting down at the road. The topaz came out at 77hp which is about right as its rated at 95hp at the crank.
I never had a chance to do a hp pull 'w the s10, I did not know the exact weight... I know that 'w 2 ppl onboard its around 3800lbs, but you need an accurate weight for hp figures.

Two weekends ago i was up at Bandimere Speed Way, which is near Red Rocks Here in CO. Now I know the altitude up here cuts HP by 1/3 and the lack of oxygen really makes 1/4 mile times suck. I ran a 14.5 (no traction that day at all), my buddy in his SS with 50 dry shot ran a 15.7 and other buddy in his syclone (cheated with all wheel drive, and turbo) ran a 13.6. Now You guys might think thats pretty slow but think about it like this, my second run I ran against a WRX STI, he beat me of the line but that about all the beating he did. Not to mention I'm still runnig the stock rear end in my truck trying to put 300 HP to the ground, at this altitude, all with one wheel. LOL, when I get the posi in it should easily bring me down at least 1 full second. Now to convert all the timesfrom this altitude to sea level I would have been running a high 10 and you can figure out the other two from there. Not bad for a one wheel wonder, run on 85 octane. You Must Make It Go Faster!
