i think you would win for sure. i have a 98' 2.2 5speed and when me and my friend race i edge him out everytime. he has an 85' chevy silverado with a 305. but thats if your friend is stock

haha o yeah. all i have are pace setter headers to a gutted cat to a dynomax turbo muffler and a turn down before the axle. thats it. o yeah and the "cold air" airbox mod. but it depends on if he has mods to and in how good of condition his motor is in. but i think you will have no problem at all cause stock 4.3's rape my truck. so yeah my money would be on you...if both are stock

what condition is his motor in? i had an 80 monte witha 305 and super low miles and that thing was pretty quick it would definitly beat a 4.3 s10.but if its got a weak motor or he doesnt know how to drive you should win easily.or get some nitrous and win either way hahahaaha

bein an 87 4.3 i dont think so all older 4.3s are gutless especially with a crappy shifting 700r-4

The 87 4.3 is a TBI with 160hp, a 700r4 and 3.08 gears. I would expect the MC to have a 5.0, TBI, 200+hp.
I would say that the Monte Carlo would win. But hey, find yourself a lonely "safe" place to race and give it a shot. Once you run let us know what happened.

The monte has a crappy shifting 200r , i know i had 1 . The monte will move fine till it hits 3 gear then its dog meat! The 200r shifts slow ,real slow and its probley got a 3.08 rear gear too. If its has 3.42 then maybe but i think youll win.

ya no witnesses =no loss lol and who cares its your friend and racings fun so run them and lets see what happens and if u got 700-r4 dont use overdrive or just stand on it from start to stop and it wont go into od

the 86 monte is 3500 lbs. the 305 put out a whopping 180 hp. i'd say it would be a close race

i dont know iv raced newer modle monte carlos and tore em up but an older one i dont know it oughta be close also i have a question that i cant figure out my truck is a 4.3 5- speed in a short wheel base regular cab with factory loweres suspension and factory 5 star rims but is it an extreme or another sport package or what also the motor is the 4.3 h.o. like out of a full size.

You can do roller rockers and a cam. Those modifications should be very noticeable.
