which has a deeper rumble and no popping?
I have a flowmaster 40 series 2-chamber muffler welded to the stock pipes on my 4.3l and I think it sounds great. It has a nice rumble, and I never hear any popping. I have no experience with gibson other than the sound clips on there site, which sounded like crap to me. I would definately buy another flowmaster again.

Blowmaster has the worst flow ratings of any of the popular mufflers made by the aftermarket. There sound to reduce sound useage redirects exhaust gases which is against everything in exhaust velocity theory. All the popular Blowmaster flow under 250 CFM.
Gibsons while quieter than the 40 Series Blowmaster flows over 250 CFM. Flowmaster reputation is merely the echo noise that sells it. Ultraflows and Borlas outflow all the Blowmaster mufflers by over 100 CFM and are LOUD and DEEP!

I work at an exaust shop near boston and we sell flowmaster, bullet,Ultraflow and magnaflow. My boss says in tens years of business that magaflow is the most impressive muffler company both in sound and quality.

I have a magnaflow exhaust and i don't care what anyone says i think its awesome! It sounds great and it has more flow than a flowmaster. I have a 4 banger and i got a nice low sound to it and can be heard real good too. I've had lots of comments on the sound of my truck since i got it. Everyone will say to get a flowmaster but i didn't listen to them and i was really happy and the exhaust shop said that magnaflow has much better performance than flowmaster.

Ive owned both, a 40series flowmaster and now the gibson catback. Everyone pretty much covered everything about the two. Depending on what your after. The gibson has much better flow but the flowmaster has a louder rumbling sound. Performance= Gibson Sound= Flowmaster. You might want to try magna flow. Bad thing is it cost the price of gibson and flowmaster combine.

I've had my Gibson for 5 years. It still performs well and the sound puts you in mind of old turbo mufflers. Yes, the Flowmaster is louder. However, despite what people tell you, it will not sound like a V8.

okay this is just me but i have a 4.3 w/ true dual 40 series delta flows, now let me tell u somethin, with these two mufflers i have fooled many people into believing that i have a v8 under my hood. when i tell its a 6 they quite surprised thinking that it was a v8. plus i like to go loud so people know im comin.
