dude its a 4x4. theyre supposed to go up not down. anyways i believe the 4x4 sits a little higher than the 2wd so a 3/3 drop wont be as low. shouldnt be a problem tho

Your suspension WILL bottom out more than it used to, but you won't hit the pavement. That's one reason bumpstops are used. I don't think you'll bottom out all that often, at least in the rear.

does a 4x4 sit alittle higher?? also at what height will the frame hitting be a problem(as in how far away should the drivetrain be from the ground??)

I don't think you really have the right idea about the suspension. The drivetrain will be closer to the ground in the front, but the rear end and leaves will stay at the same height. You will just have your truck sitting closer to the bumpstops so that you have less wheel travel. You aren't going to let the frame get any closer to the ground than it could have when it was stock height. The suspension will bottom out at the same height and keep the frame the same height off the ground at full bottom out. Your frame will never go any lower than it could have with the stock setup. When installing drop spindles on a 2wd, the frame height becomes and issue, because the entire truck is lowered. it's not only the suspension being compressed.

Sam is correct, you'll have the same ground clearance at full compression, just less compression travel. Unless you run shorter tires, of course.

Don't listen to S10350racer. I'm using the same drop kit on my 4x4 standard cab in the course of building a Syclone-like full-time driveline, upgraded suspension, and steering, and all wheel disc brakes, before dropping in a fuel injected, roller cammed, 383 smallblock with aluminum heads I'm hoping I can confuse the emissions ****s into believing is a Vortec 5.7. I'm shooting for 450hp and 450 lbs/ft at the flywheel. Tires will be P255/45R17. Should be fun.
