I am sure that many people have modified their Blazer to handle better and with some mods it can handle ok. However you must keep in mind that an SUV is not the best candidate for an autocross project since you do have a high center of gravity even if it is lowered. I personally would not modify a Blazer for autocross allthough I have lowered my Blazer and plan on lowering my dad's Blazer to improve handling.
2" coils ans 2" spindles up front, leaf springs on the rear with a set of ZQ8 de Carbon shocks, Belltech's or Edelbrocks will give you a nice drop. Add a set of ZQ8 or 4DR Blazer sway bars to tighten things up. Do not forget a nice set of rims, tires. Do that and your Blazer will handle real nice.

My 2000 Jimmy is not set up to run Autocross, but I have thought about running it on a track to see what it would do. My truck is pretty low, but the best mod I noticed handling wise are my 16" X 8" ZQ8 wheels and tires. It handles pretty well, but it does like to roll since it's and SUV. I will be getting a set of Edelbrock shocks and possibly Blazer Xtreme sway bars (need to compare sizes with my current front and rear sway bars).

i have been autocrossing my current rise a 99 VW jetta, and even though itd heavy for a 4 banger it does pretty well. last year we had a guy come out in a grand marque wagon with winter tire on! lol. im not looking to be the fastest. i know a blazer would never keep up the wrx sti! i just want to still be able to enjoy the sport and have fun while staying legal.

The bars on the 4DR Blazer are the same exact bars as on the Xtreme and ZQ8.
If you know that a Blazer is not the best vehicle for autocross, why dont you just get something sportier that is in your price range?

cause i have a 99 vw jetta 2.0l with chip cam k&n ans catback with a better suspension and rims and tires.

but!

i really want back into rwd. i want a V8 (my old 4x4 blazer had a v8)
and i like the look of the first gen's.

yeah i could pick any one of the cars mention but why? i want a challenge. anyone can install a suspension in a mustang and be competive. i can build the blazer my self and have the pride that goes with it. like said i expect to win, but just haven fun.

i havent driven a 2wd s10 to know what there like for handeling. just wondering if with the right setup will it be ok?

Like s10350racer said, an S-10 truck would be a better candidate for autocross vs. a Blazer. Blazers are too top heavy and getting an S-10 truck would be easier to get to handle well compared to a Blazer.

Hmmm, honestly the only good ones there are the mustang, s2k, miata, and 350z.....lol. One of the best cars are Mini coopers, and I have a full season under my belt in a stock 01 zx3 focus....its even an auto,....I placed 3rd in Hstock year points behind a pair of mini's....I beat the honda's all to heck...lol

You can make the s-series handle, altho I'd do a truck....I have seen a syclone in pics from the indy region's records....lol. They are in Astock I believe....lol

in my old 4x4 blazer i was doing donughts in a parking lot and hit a curb and it went right up over it, and kept going. i would hope a 2 wd that is lower would be at least as stable if not more when going side ways. plus with a V8 in it i could over the power the tires easily, spinning tire dont catch.

240sx's handle really nice especially the older 89-93 (S13) ones. I had one about 9 yrs ago when they did not have the Drifting hype and I loved it. Quick, great tq for a 4cyl and great handling.
FWD is not my favorite nor ideal for autocross. I do realize that the driver will make a BIG difference in any autocross comparison.

Yeah, the driver has almost everything to do with it. Basically in Hstock(what I run the focus in) I have been within a second of the 11th place nationally competitive mini cooper with suspension, exhaust, air filter, lightweight rims and Rcompound tires.....this was with a then stock auto focus with allseasons. Its shocking how good some FWD cars are, but it looks like next year I'll be campaigning a 95 BMW 318ti in Xprepared.......we are just beginning prep work for that class. We'll prolly have it down to around 2200lbs, and will have close to 160whp out of a 1.8L....lol

my1987, you will also get kicked out of autocrosses for excessive wheelspin. and with them spinning, you don't have alot of control over the rear.
