alright so ive been wondering. my s10 tops out at 94mph but i can take 4th gear to 85mph then theres still a whole 5th gear left. is there a chip in the fuse relay i can take out to make it so it doesnt hit the limiter at 94??

First of all what are your tires rated at? If they're meant for 100mph (Q rating) I would first find some U-Z (124-150+) tires. The stock 4.3 will pull to 120mph if you have 3.42's in the rear end. I know, I did it the second night I had my truck. :D

Other than that, I'd recommend the Hypertech programmer or Tunercat and just change your settings. That's how I change mine. My fall/winter tires are rated at 106 so I don't bother going above 90. My summer tires though are Z rated so they're capable of handling any speed I hit, even at 130mph.

well my truck is only a 2.2l stock tires right now. but i plan on getting high speed rated tires cause i wanna do some autocross for fun. im savin up for my exhaust before i do my wheels and tires. but for reference i was wanting to know how to make it get past that 94mph mark.

Why do you want to go above 94 mph? If you don't plan to drag race at a track it is stupid and unsafe to you and others on the road.

my 2nd post sais i want to do autocross. drags would be dumb with my worthless motor. i do however want to race autocross. and sometimes out that the speedway in vegas. roadcourses.

Ohh, thats cool and sounds fun! Unfortunatley too many people have posted here in the past about removing the speed limiter so they can go excessivley fast on the free way and in town. The easiest way is the Programmer or if you have a standard there is a wire you can cut I believe and it removes the rev limiter.

yea i read about the wire thing. but i guess someone said it messes with the ABS system and Odometer. so im probably just going to go the route of a programmer

Start saving.

Edit: Actually I just realized that you have a 2.2L. Hypertech doesn't bother with 2.2L's that I'm aware of. Good luck!

There is no power Programer for the 2.2 Only thing you can do to get higher speeds is purchase a Jet Stage 2 Chip and this removes the gonvenor.

There is no reason why youy should be driving your truck at over 95mph.
You are not going to hit 95mph on any autocross event with your 2.2 anyways.
Worry less about driving faster, instead worry about driving better.

Check out HPtuners.com (http://www.hptuners.com/order.php) for some computer programming options for 2.2's.

Yes, cause that's what he asked. Let him do what he will.

There is nothing that I can do to keep him from doing what he wants. However I refuse to help him and support hin in doing something so un Wise.

if your truck is a 5 speed, then u can go under the truck and cut the wires going to speed sensor, run wires up to the inside of the truck and install toggel switch!

ive read something about the wire cuttin thing to dissable the speed limiter but they said that the speedo drops to 0 when you do this or something like that its been awhile. here in ky. the best tracks that we got are on the street so street race we do only do it on backroads tho cause the normally the best ones long straight and wide just block them off

geeze alot of people dont want yoy speeding on here huh ? if only you guys could see my video on my. myspace going 179 on my street bike you guys would flip but yeah. Ive done the speedo trick just cut one wire run it to a switch and use it when you know your gonna be goin fast and that way it will keep your mileage down on your odometer..jk

you can cut the wire.then route it to a toggle switch.switch on governor still works.switch off no governor.

Why not just buy a stupid chip. Now I know the first thing I'm gonna check for when I buy another s10. Cut a stupid wire. :frustrate

or you can just drop in a 5.7 and a t56 trans,a chip ,headers and intake, add a locking diff and call it BALLS TO THE WALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Google jet chips and I'm sure you can find a seller.

i would be careful since when your limiter cuts your truck off its for a reason since your truck is already turning about 4.5K cause if you continue you will be in the same boat i was in and have a blown engine...just so you know ;)
