intake heat shield

i have a question regarding wether there is a heat sheild setup that i could purchase that would set inbetween my intake and the radiator. My intake setup is the standard airaid for the 4.3 and it seems to get really hot really quickly which i think may have to do with it's distance from the radiator. If one can't be purchased anyone have any ideas as how to cool the intake down a little, i know heat kills horsepower and i should have gone with the K&N for a few extra bucks but this was more available in my area.

make one, its actualkly rather simple...you can use a 'for sale' sign or something with similar material. i cut up a small street sign..because it's metal and can take heat better than a plastic. it was really easy..took me maybe 30 minutes. then painted it to make it look pretty. Or if you buy a k&n fipk kit, it has one built with it, but if you make your own, making one is your best bet.
