Raced one tonight from a stop.
Left them behind as if they were sitting still.
I was driving a black 04 maxima 3.5 SE though. :P

That's why. I've been beat by both.

The 3.5's are no joke as V6's go. They are Nissan's workhorse engine, found in pretty much all Nissan/Infinities including the 350Z/G35s and Quest minivans. It is also the probable engine to be found in the new R-35 GT-R.

You got that right. Their a pretty stout V6. I'm impressed with them.

The vq35 is nissans new power house, i wanted to see them bring a newer version of the rb into the new skyline, hell a car with a verison of the sr20det would be sweet. That in the new sentra would be sweet.
Have you seen the new maxima ser that thing is sweet.

Don't you mean Altima seR ?
I do find it neat that the 07 Maxima's are sporting a constant variable velocity transaxle..

THe Maxima does have the VQ35.
The Altima has the VQ35 and the Altima SE-R has the VQ35 making more power and a 6speed tranny.

haha, those maxima's are pretty quick....heck, my sable has some issues with civilian crown vics....the police ones are so weighed down they are easily outrun with it....lol. Now the altima with the 3.5L is lights out to alot of cars, I think they'll run with stock SRT4's.....lol. because simple math, same hp-weight=much faster....lol I wouldn't mind an altima 3.5 SE, but I think I'd rather spend the same amount and get a mazdaspeed 6, they are a little faster yet...

Mazdaspeed 6? no way man!!! that would be a big mistake. Look towards that Nissan Altima SE-R.
Have you actually driven a Mazdaspeed 6 yet?
I drove one hard on a Mazda "Zoom Zoom Live" test drive event and I did not like the car a bit. I have read a handfull of articles about the car and I was planning on being impressed since it makes nice HP #'s , it is 6 speed and AWD. It looked like one sweet fast sport sedan, boy was I wrong.
The car looks very nice. I love the simple yet sporty body mods. I like the seats, interior 2 tone leather and all that.
Start to drive it and you find a very grippy clutch that is very hard to modulate and drive smoothly. It wasn't just me, most of the people that would drive it looked as if they had never driven stick but they owned stick shift cars. Start to drive it and you notice that there is very little low end TQ which is understandable since it is a small engine and they tend to have low tq but rev nice and strong once the turbo spools. Keep waiting for that extra push turbo cars are known for, you will not feel it here. I must add that the car is quick, but not as you would expect from a turbo engine making that amount of power. Once you get into the curves the smooth riding suspension starts to sway all over the place and there is plenty of understeer like you would expect on a FWD sedan, but this is supposed to be a Sports sedan. The suspension just does not have any sport in it.
My veredict is that the Mazdaspeed 6 is a regular Mazda 6 that looks a bit nicer, and trades the V6 for an almost equaly potent turbocharged 4cyl.

Well, this altima ser sounds cool, but could you pick one up off a mazda lot currently for low 20's since they tried marking them up so high??
