4.3l headers

How long does it take to install headers on a 4.3l late model s10? And is there any exhast fabrication needed or is it generally a bolt-on? also what brand would you go with? Headmen's are fairly inexpensive how are they?

I dunno about installation, brand, or custom fab work. But I also want to know this answer. If they make as big of a difference as people make them sound, I might stand chance for some power!

I have the JBA's but they have a design flaw in the first primary tube on the driver's side. I'd go with the new Doug Thorley headers from summitracing.com. JBA is too expensive for what you get. Also use some stainless bolts in the ypipe. It's just a bolt on set of headers. You may have to wait on them for a little while once you order.

its not that difficult to install headers. it is mainly just a bolt on no fabrication is needed. i have a 4.3 and i am also looking for some headers. personally i would either go with Edelbrock or Gibson. you can check out autopartswarehouse.com and they will have headers in both name brands. the edelbrock i believe is about 307$ for a set, which is a good price because they are heavy duty and wont corrode or rust and will last u a long time. the gibsons are a liitle more expensive, ur lookin around 345$ for a set maybe less, these are chrome headers and the only reason why they cost more. but i personally would go with edelbrock because there really is no difference and i like edelbrock better, but thats just me.
