View Full Version : Need Inside Locks Shaved??
Hey guys. I just wanted to let you all know that if you have shaved your doors and no longer use your interior locks, I can fill the handle bezels with a plastic filler plate and smooth them out with body filler. I'll then prime them so you can paint them whatever color you want. You will have to sand most of the texture off the rest of the handle to make the new smooth part match up as best as possible. If you wanted an entirely smooth bezel, the whole thing would need to be sanded, filled and primed, which I would be able to do for you. If anyone is interested in this, PM me so we can work out a deal. I would need you to send them to me in the mail and I could have them done in a few days. Cost would be around $35 to fill the holes, and about an extra $20 if you want me to smooth out the whole bezel. This would include return shipping. I only smoothed the lock portion of mine and sanded the rest fairly smooth. There was still some texture left on the rest, but it looks great anyway. This is something that I thought about doing, so I tried it and it works great. Just let me know. I did this to mine and painted them to match the interior and they look amazing. NO LOCKS! I can get you a pic if necessary. I used GM charcoal metallic for the paint and it looks great with my graphite interior. If you want, I can paint them too for a little extra. I think there were only 2 or 3 different colors from the factory, so I could match them pretty well of you want them to still blend into your stock interior. I'll go ahead and post a pic soon. This type of thing can also be done to the air bag hole next to the radio, and other holes that you might want to fill in.

I'd like to see pics on this stuff too.
Here's a terrible pic. Best I can do. This is why I said I'd provide one if necessary. :o Just send me yours with a money order and I can do them in a couple days.

lol that pic IS horrible. I don't know how good or bad that would look though, I'll think about it, but i'm not sure.
Were you saying 60 for smooth as hell shipped?
Looks pretty darn good in my truck (that's the actual bezel in my truck). If you're into shavin' like I know you are, then this is another cool mod. The pic is bad, so just use your imagination. If you send me yours, I'll send them back to you (return shipping included) with the lock filled and finished for $35, OR lock filled with the whole bezel smoothed and primed for $55, OR filled/smoothed/painted for $70. It will be Dupli-Color Touch up spray as close of a match as I can find and wet sanded/rubbed to a gloss finish. The charcoal metallic that I used to match the graphite looks great. IF yours are light gray, then I could use some lighter paint. If they were tan, then I'd have to find some tan paint. You know. It would be worth the money. If you know of a dupli color paint you want me to use you could always mail it with the bezels. Postal workers would love to ship a pressurized can. :D My local store has plenty of colors though. I wouldn't be making much money off this anyway. It's just something I like to do and thought maybe some guys would like it done that don't want to do it themselves. I wouldn't offer to do this unless I knew you'd be satisfied with it. Probably be metallic paint unless you just don't want that. Metallics are easier to find in the colors that I would use.

I guess the only question I have is more for clarification: 35/55/70 for both bezels?
And also, two things stopping me from sending them out today= money, and that would be the only thing in my truck that's painted, and it will be a long time before I have time for anything else to be painted.
I'll certainly keep your offer in mind, it sounds cool and I think it will/would look cool. Thanks

Oh yeah, one thing else: Where did you get the envoy handles again(how much)? I know you posted before, so I didn't want to create a new thread.
All those prices were for both bezels together. They are the only things that are painted in my truck too, but they blend in better than you might think. I got the envoy handles from the local dealer about a year and a half ago for about $11 each. Now they are about $40 each. I guess the supply that is manufactured was cut down or something.

Yeah, I did a google on them(which came up almost completely empty handed) and I ended up on s10forum.com. Apparently some guy works at a dealership and can get them for about 40 shipped. On gmpartsdirect.com, they are like 27.00 a piece + shipping.
I will have a couple of these handle sets done soon, so let me know if you want them.
I've got a set of these ready. $55 shipped. I'll need your handle bezels in exchange, kinda like a core. This set is totally smooth, Lock hole and the rest of it.
