Does anyones buzzers annoy them? It would be great if (I) and anyone else can find theirs and remove and or replace it with a more angelic sounding device.

Q: a 91 is considered first gen right? Anybody have a clue to where the buzzer is?

Has to be somewhere in the dash.

I think they may be hidden in a panel directly under the steering wheel.
Honestly, my truck's buzzers don't bother me at all.

What is the buzzer?....when the door is open and key is turned on? At least, that's the only thing I could think of at the moment that you could be talking about.

Oh god...I used to have a '91 2.5. The buzzer thing is SOOOO annoying. I wanted to rip that truck apart to make that thing quit. Thankfully my brother totalled it and I got my current truck, whose buzzer thing is not bad at all.

I know there's a way to disengage the buzzer. In Fords there's a fuse that runs it and all you hafta do is pull the fuse. And a buddy of mine has a '97 Monte Carlo and he got rid of the buzzer in his some how, so I know it can be done.

iit should be under the dash around the fusebox/lower steering coloum area . GM's buzzers are usually about 1"x2"x3" and have what looks like a speaker grille about 1" dia. on one side. the easyiest way to find it is to make it buzz and reach around where you can't see and fell for something vibrating and pull it out , almost like a flasher but a couple more terminals 4 or 5.

Sweet, thanks so much you guys! I have already checked the fuse box, no luck there. Oh and did you know on a 1st gen, if the top interior light isn't installed, the doesn't work? Funny huh. Anyway I will hunt that thing down and destroy it, for lack of a better statement.

FOUND THAT B^@tch! It was under the dash on the body to the right of the vent. It looked like a grommet with an electrical plug sticking out the center. Now the only buzzer that makes noies (which is fine by me) is the buzzer thats telling you that you're about to start your truck (ACC.)
