Door Spring

Does anyone know how to get the door spring in and out to replace the hinge bushing. I think a large valve spring compresser might work.

they sell a cheap tool at autozone for the springs. most people just pop them out with a screwdriver and dont bother to put them back in for some reason tho.

Pop it out with a prybar and use a door hinge spring compressor to reinstall it. I had the local body shop stick mine in for me free. Took 5 minutes

Definitely get the proper door spring compressor tool. It makes it so much easier to change and won't scratch the paint like prybars and screwdrivers. :D

I took mine out and replaced it with a screwdriver.
I saw it more of a challenge than a chore.
I used a large flat tipped driver and it worked.
