Well, I needed a set of oil cooler lines so I called some local auto parts stores and no one had any. I called the dealership and they wanted $122.00  No way in hell they're getting that out of me. So I decided to start hunting online for the oil lines and came across carpartswholesale.com(which I also found out is affiliated with autopartswarehouse.com) they had the oil lines for $51.00 so I placed an order on Dec. 1, 2006. I waited for a tracking number for 6 days. On the 7th day I finally got an e-mail with a tracking number. The tracking number they sent did not work to track the package. So I just waited for it. Today, Dec. 12, 2006 I come home from work to find a huge box on my doorstep. I opened it up and it was a giant lamp :frustrate I checked the labels and packing list and they were all addressed to me. I called carpartswholesale.com and told the lady what the problem was and she said she would get the correct part sent to me and e-mail me instructions on returning the lamp. What a bunch of bs. How does a lamp come from an auto parts store? I hope it doesn't take another 12 days before I get the correct part.

I just thought i'd share my experience to save someone else the headaches.

How nice was the lamp? Could you have modified it to fit?

He,he I'm not that desperate to fix the leak yet. I have a temporary fix on it right now. It was just frustrating to wait so long and then receive the wrong part, or in this case, not even an auto part at all.

Wow im not sure what to say to that, we have screwed up and sent the wrong size item but the right one none the less but a lamp, how do mistake a box thats at least 3 feet tall for something that should be less than 12" WTF. Order something like a radiator you might get a plasma TV by mistake.

I got my oil lines from O'Reilly's auto parts for about $33. Might want to check around your local autoparts stores for a better deal. :)

O' O' O' O'Reillys actually had the right part in stock? strange! when I lived in OKC it was like pullin hens teeth to get the correct starter for a 1988 V6 Camaro outta them 3 trips over the course of a day there before I finally......went to Autozone up the street they had it on the shelf!

The local one has a good car hobbyist guy behind the counter. He knows the parts and how to look them up correctly. That's what makes or breaks a parts store. I live out in the country and hate having to drive back into town due to the wrong part for a customer's car. :frustrate

http://www.coolsmilies.net/happy/laugh1.gif I'm still waiting for the oil lines. They sent me an rtv # by e-mail to return the lamp but it said I am responsible for the charges to ship it back  I'm not paying to ship their mistake back so I called them again and spoke with a guy named Luis and explained the whole situation to him. He says he don't know how I would have received a lamp because they only carry auto parts. He also said to call UPS and tell them what happened. I called UPS and told them the story and she thinks it was their fault not carpartswholesale.coms. She said they must have stuck the wrong sticker on the wrong box. So they are supposed to be getting someone to come get the lamp and get it to the person who ordered it. I hope there are no more headaches and I get the oil lines a.s.a.p.

We have to put the labels on ourselves so nothing like that happens. Look on the label to see where it was comming from.

Im already impressed you got ups to admit something was there fault. We shipped about 1600 worth of stuff the last month and they apparantly ran it over with a fork lift, they where steel sleeves for bushings so they couldnt break and we had it insured. Well they where so cooperative at first then after a week they said let us find the parts and get it straight well the next day they start saying they wont pay us for the lost parts, they dont think we had it insured and all this other bs. I hate the people who run ups with a passion, there drivers on the other hand are great.

A little update, I finally got my oil lines on Dec.22. Almost a month after I ordered them and I'm still waiting for someone from UPS to come pick up the lamp. I know they are probably backed up with the holidays and all so I guess I just have to hang on to the lamp until they get around to it. The main thing is I got the oil lines and installed them and everything is good.

Yes, I saw it looks good. I'm not really sure I'm going to completely write off carpartswholesale.com because it is more likely for the problem to have been with UPS then them.

i had the same problem but i never got my part. ordered the part got an email saying they shipped it, then got another email saying call this number and they said it was on backorder and it would be a few weeks, so i thought oh ok it'll eventually get here.

a month later i said screw it im never going to order from autopartswarehouse.com again

all i wanted was clear turn signals, which arent as important as oil cooler lines, so i can live without them

I still have the lamp. I don't know if anyone from UPS will ever come and get it. they probally wrote it off or paid the insurance claim........either that or say the middle of July they might get a hair up thier butt and come get it! but I seriously doubt it! If nothing else sell it on ebay!

well i ordered a bumber and something else from them and both parts seemed like it was made in china by a person who only guessed what the truck might look like. even when i did man handle it on the truck i still need to beat the outer edges of the bumper out a little, so thats the last time i deal with them.
