My fiance's car needed inspection. Pepboys was about the only inspection we could find. Finally on the third attempt we were able to get it in, it failed. Thats fine, it's legit. Get the brakes fixed, take it back... again on the third go is when it finally got attended to. The second time she arrived at 4pm. All they had to do was remove the front wheels to verify new pads and rotor (15min at worst). At 530 they come out and inform her that the inpection guy left at 5, sorry we couldn't get to you.
Through this whole experiance we had nothing but difficulty. Between the shop stopping work at 5pm and the less than helpful staff and the necissary multiple attempts, this chain has earned the sorrow of not having my buisness.
To anyone who cares to listen, I say don't go. But maybe you'll have a better experiance than me.

nope not me. i took my s10 there about 9 years ago to have a/c compressor replaced. took 3 days, numerous phone calls before it was "ready". when i got there the bill was double what they quoted me. they replaced sensors and switches and all kinds of shit that i never authorized. i threatened to call the police and a good lawyer and they ended up charging me 10% off the original price. i was still pissed off, but took it and ran. their compressors are garbage by the way.

I worked there 9 years ago and the place had just started to go to hell. THey are understaffed and most of the service writers there know **** about cars. You pay PepBoys 70 to80 bucks an hour and the mechanics get 15 to so of it. They alway have more work than they can handle because Pep Boys run minimal employees at each department. At max through the week we had 4 mechanics and two tire techs. on the weekends 5 or 6 mechanics and 3 tire techs. They never have any organization between the parts desk and the service desk, and the worst part about it is you are getting long waits just because of that. The service writers alway give empty promises to the customer and don't worry about the issue until it is a a critical standpoint! Got to love the college jobs!

on another point if ya ever had your oil changed there (or anywhere else for that matter) and they charged you an "oil disposal fee"...I'd scream bloody murder.....seems a few outfits here were doing that (charging the fee) and it was found out they and most oil change stores and parts stores who run oil collection points were selling the used oil to refiners who wound up recycling it!.....thus scamming the consumer....it got exposed on the 5:00 news and the practice of charging the fee got dropped rather quickly!

I dont know what you guys are talking about pep boys around here is awsome!! Oh wait thats right they were here and the next day you walk up and the doors are chained shut and theres a rep standing there telling the employees they no longer have a job. Great company took me almost 6 months to get a set of wheels from them when I was told it would be 3 days max!

Let's just face it... There are NO good stories about Pepboys. The few times I went there I was shocked by the lack of knowledge of their associates. I have come to the realization that if my two trusted auto parts stores (Nappa And Advanced) don't have it, Pepboys wont. And even if they did they wouldn't even know it.

about 12 months ago i took my wifes jeep to get a new set of 31 swamppers installed. no problem, well it took about an hour not bad.....they put uniroyal street tires on it. well that wasn't enough they put the tires i took in on the truck that was suppose to get the tires they put on mine and the guy hauled ass before mine was seen and what not. so they had to contact this guy and some bullshit later he got back but i refused the tires. so to make a long store short the manager had to go to 4 wheel parts and buy us some new ones. as good measure they installed the new ones swapped the retard that drove off with his proper tires and also gave me back the set that i took in from the get go. so 2 new sets of tires one i payed for and some freebie's. no labor charge yes a simple task took about 5 hours but was well worth in in the long run. GO SOME PLACE ELSE.............
