i heard something like marking the driveshft with white-out or something and then spin the tire (x) amount of times and count how many times the driveshaft turned, and that will tell you the ratio  ... can someone clear this up for me? maybe someone knows what comes in it already? its a 98 s10 LS, 2.2, auto trny, reg cab.
thanks,
erik

I'd probably have to have the stock tire diameter, too, right? my tires right now are a lil smaller than stock...

Jack up the rear of the vehicle and go get a friend to hold one of the wheels. Put the trans in neutral and mark the other wheel. Then turn the other wheel 2 complete turns while counting the revolutions of the driveshaft. Chances are with a four cylinder you should have a 3.73:1 ratio.

Look in the glove box for the GU code. GU-4 is 3.08, GU-6 is 3.42 and I forget the others right now!
