is the '92 vortec 4.3L v6 the same block and heads as a '98 vortec v6? i am looking into purchasing a '92 v6 and build in order to put in my '98 sonoma. i want to make sure all of the electronic hook-ups will be on the '92

Well the true Vortec engine did not come out till 96. All 96+ are Vortecs the earlyer ones are not. If you have a 92 "vortec" then you have a regular 4.3 with the CPI fuel injection. The block is compatible between the 92 and 98 allthough the most 92's do not have a balance shaft, but either way they enterchange. now the whole heads, intake manifold, EFI and harness will not interchange between these two years.
You actually want the 96+ motor since it has a balance shaft and the Vortec heads which flow a lot better.

it should bolt up i dont know bout the timing chain sensor , or the knock sensors

should bolt right up tho

i thot all the 90* v6s are the same just like the sbc

i would buy a 96 an up block just to make sure there is no problems

are you gonna mod this motor or keep it orignal

i would get forged internals like pistons an connector rods .

an a stroker crankshaft

all this stuff you can buy from speedo an paw
