How many of you people out there have 4.3L Vortecs with the 5sp manual? Please also state the features like: a/c,pw,pd,ps,pm,console,zq8,ss,xtreme, or anything else like that. Just wondering how uncommon the 4.3L 5sp combo is. Thanks

P.S. Also what gear ratio are you guys running.

its not very uncommon...there everywhere.as far as gear ratios i think mine is a 3.08

hey mines an 03----4.3 5spd with 3.08 gears out back, but I haven't seen any like it around jersey. Don't know bout any other states tho

huh, i kinda meant 98 newer ones. but i bought the first one i came across and have only seen one other in indiana.

I wish my truck would have been offeres with a 5speed.
I am stuck with a SS which is auto with 3.42 gears.
Why would GM offer the optional "SS" package with the HO 195hp V6 then mess it up with a forced automatic tranny?

yea, i have never seen a ss with a 5sp. Mine is a stripper zq8 so how many of those do you all see?

I got a 98 Ls s10 v-6 vortec with the 5spd x cab 3rd door with the sportside bed. Anyone know how low i can drop it if i already have the ZQ8 suspension? Im thinkin about going with 2inch spindels and 4'' blocks with a set of cool max shocks? i need some ideas let me know

I dont reccomend the 4" blocks but highly reccommend the spindles in front
I reccommend the leafs or hangers for the back. A 4" block is a little much for anything with as much torque as the vortec. Now that i look, i have seen more ex cabs than regular cabs. LOL

Had 96 Sonoma Ext Cab 4x4 , 5 speed. 4.3L X motor, 3.08 rear, no options.
Had 01 Blazer, 2 Door, 2 wheel, 4.3, 5 Speed ,3.42 gov lock, AC and CD.
Now 05 Blazer, 2 Door, 2 Wheel, 4.3, 5 Speed, 3.73 Gov lock, AC and AM/FM.
5 Speed trucks arent rare, however 2 Door Blazers are!
