Alright, well when i bought my truck they said that the abs was a little touchy. Well it was, so i pulled the fuse to get normal brakes, becasue the abs was going on when it wasnt suppose to.
It was raining yesterday and i drove 5 minutes to work instead of walking, and my breaks are locking up when i barely touch them. Its dry now, and they are still doing it. im almost afraid to drive in case somthing happens, and im sick of people watching me like im the worst driver in history. Help?

my brakes were starting to do that, turns out the rear wheel cylinders were starting to leak a little, and the brake fluid on the brake shoes was making them grabby. wheel cylinders were about $13 each.

Rear Drums are bad. Same thing happend to me. With the open dif the break wear differently due to the tires wearing differently. Replace the Drums and the problem should be fixed.

I'm glad to hear it's working better for now. With, for now, being the main emphasis. You should absolutely get it checked out. Depending on your comfort level with the work, it doesn't matter if you take it in or do it yourself. C'mon this is your braking system you're talking about. Don't take an unnecessary risk out of laziness, just inspect your braking system to make sure you don't have any problems.
I hope his head doesn't swell too much  but I have to agree with rink...
0-60mph is what sells on magazines, but 60-0 is what saves your life.

I have something somewhat similar happen with my truck when it sits from time to time. I think it does it more when its been raining and its very damp out.
The truck will have super touchy brakes for a minute or two.
I think the rotors and or drums are rusting up due to the moisture and are super grippy.
The truck will come to a screeching halt even with very little brake application. The brakes are noisy etc. The braking is very abrupt and annoying at this point.
However, within a minute or two of driving the brakes are back to normal.
I have inspected the brakes, they're fine.
My old Topaz does this as well when its sitting for a long while.
Its still worth checking into (see if your pads, rotors, shoes and rums are ok) but I bet its only dirt/rust buildup from sitting around.

This is actually pretty common due to the moisture on the raw steel surfaces of the rotor. Most cars will do this including brake drum systems. I usually ride the brakes lightly for a hundred feet to help polish the rust back off the rotors. Then it drives normal again. :)
