hey, i just purchased my 95 s10 4.3 vortec. i have been doing some research, but i dont know what chip to go with. hypertech seems to be the only one that offers a chip for that year. Also can a GM dealer flash the computer to reset everything, and or get more performance out of it, instead of the chip??. I switched from 26.8" rims and tires to 28.1" rims and tires for 3 days. Now the whole truck runs bad, and barely idles at low rpm's. It was dumping to much gas into the motor, and now it wont go back to stock, with the stock 26.8" rims and tires back on!!
what can i do??

the problem that you are having has nothing to do with your tires.

hmm are you getting any SES light?
If you EGR stuck open ?
Does your brake pedal get really hard when it runs rough ?
Does it run rough all the time or just idle?
Is it a cyl misfire or a random misfire?

it just started when i put my rims on. It idles bad at low rpm, usually when at a stop light. it almost is like a cam style of sputtering. i have not notcied the brakes at all, but what will that have to do with the truck running bad.??

change the pvc an clean the egr

change the cap an rotor if not fixed

change spark plugs 2

a chip wont help you fix it

do the 96 an up motor have egrs ?

When the EGR is stuck open, it puts exhaust into the intake which drops intake manifold vacume just as if it had a big vacume leak. The booster brake uses vacume in order to make the pedal soft. If you are losing vacume, then your brakes will be hard.
If a piece of carbon is stuck on the EGR valve you can sometimes remove it by stomping hard on the gas while driving. This makes the EGR open and the carbon may fall off the valve.

A bad PCV valve may also give a vacume leak type problem so go ahead and change it since its only like $5 or less.
