Turkey Rod Run? what's that?
Its a huge swap meet/car show/sale in Daytona. It takes place every year, starting Thanksgiving Day and ending that Sunday. Its at the Daytona Speedway and they fill up the entire infield with cars and parts. Its mostly all old carbuerated stuff though, hardly any fuel injection.

Ahh, sorry about my stupidity, long day. Well I just booked 3 nights at Raceview Family Campground. I probably wont be there that long but I'm not 100% sure of how Beckner's schedule is going to work out so we'll see.


On a side note, my best friend Larry is now coming. I'm sure I'll get him to become a member on this site eventually but he hasn't yet so I wont update the list. He just bought himself a 2000 ZR2 S10 and it'll be lifted before we come down.

All I have left to do to get to the show is bodywork, get the motor running right, and replace most of the steering componets. After that's done I'll have to do a once over to make sure everything's good to go. Hopefully I'll be able to drive it some before the trip.

Without a doubt, I will be going but I'm not sure that poor lil Rust Bucket is gonna make it. It seems as if that small 50hp shot has taken a toll on the brave 'ol 2.5. I'll try to limp it down but my brake kit from CPP came in for my C10 and I'm almost done with the stereo in the Ram so I should have something to take. However, if I could find an S10 or Sonoma in fairly decent shape that is virgin stock, I think I have enough "stuff" layin around to slap together something to drag around...maybe a roadster...

a roadster would be cool. if you cut the top off of my truck with the 3rd door, it would kind of be like the old lincoln's. only with 3 doors. i found an 85 silverado yesterday in really good shape for $3000. 2wd 350/350 auto, and it even had power windows and locks! but...i found a box-10 tucked away and i'm going to see if i can find it again to see if it's for sale!!!

Yesterday I got my class schedule in the mail for this upcoming semester and my 1st class starts the 21st of August. I don't think I'll be able to juggle a trip to Indiana the same weekend I have to move all my crap into an apartment. It's basically coming down to taking a 7 hour trip East to IN, or a 5 hour trip South to school.

I'm going to see what I can do about this. Getting that letter yesterday ruined the weekend, and it still sucks.

Ok...here's the deal. We can meet there. It'll be roped off for Reactive Customs & Road Zombies members but there is plenty of parking across the lane...actually more. The orange S10 will be there but I sold it to a guy in another club so it will most likely be parked across the lane. Here's a pic of what I'll be taking. We'll also have canopies with Reactive & Zombies banners. Should still be easy to spot. We park right in front of the Dyno. Near where you have to go to stage on the track.

Thats dedication. I just rolled over 200,000 miles about a month ago. Its time to baby her until I can stuff a V8 in. Plus I just started our final project at school. Im the 1st Assistant Director for our final film and my crew would kick my ass if I bailed for a weekend. Pre-production can be hell!

hello everybody! i had to cut my trip short :( i did meet justin and mreed from here, but i missed drifter, eric, and badtoad. it was a good trip until personal problems got involved :mad: oh well. i think there were over 2,000 vehicles there. i'm not sure what kind of pics and vids everybody else captured, but i have about 450 s10/sonoma/blazer/jimmy pics if anyone is interested. just send me a pm with your address and i'll mail you a cd with them. sadly, i didn't get all of the dimes there. i shot only about 32 non-s10 vehicles, i was mostly going for our trucks!

just got back, it was sweeeett. the campground right next to it was one of the coolest parties ever, sat night. the club i was hanging with i had guy pinstriping the clubs trucks there. i did met drift and justin but no one else. i almost died in on 270 cause my truck hydroplaned in doing 65 :eek: and some how i saved it :).

It's one of those stories that you really had to witness because explaining it doesn't quite do it justice. In a nutshell, Motel 6 is always a huge party every day after the show. No one is in their rooms until the sun starts to come up. Anyway, throughout the night there are random parking lot cruises. Justin took his turn and decided to kill 2 birds with one stone & clean out the bed of his truck by popping a wheelie in front of the cops! Oh yeah...I forgot to mention what he had in the bed. PEOPLE! Lol.

i just pulled into my house at about 10pm tonight, i got plenty of pics, and some videos, i met mreed, eric, and justin, sorry i missed you bad toad and space blue, i would have been home alot sooner but my tranny burnd out in NY, i have no reverse or over drive, and 2nd is pretty much gone :'( WTF i never have any good luck, lastnight it started hailing golf ball size ice balls all over my truck so i ran outside and put it under the entrance way of the hotel and we had rain all the way to CT...all 900+ miles loli just gotta figure out what caused my tranny to burn up, cuz i wasnt beaten on it on the way home, i think the dealer put the wrong fluid in it cuz i do have a tranny cooler, and it was about 65 degrese outside the hole way, not to mention i got some umm...comments, about my stock blazer at the show lol

My wife drove it down to the show & we rode together in the Ram back & forth from the show to the hotel. She said it ran great & after we got home I took it out for a hell ride & it seems to have quieted down alot. I don't know what that's all about but I don't mind!

That show is my favorite every year. It's such a pain in the ass getting everyone's projects finished & driving all of the way there all white-knuckled trying to run through my head everything I've done...worrying about whether or not I got all 500+ lug nuts tight, hood latches properly installed, wiring safe so that there will be no fires....but it pays off ten fold because of all of the fun I have and networking I get to do with my vendors & clients. Ahhh...another good show on the books.

All of the "Reed's" auto shop trucks have that lil guy on the bedsides. It's something that my dad did in the 70's on the very first shop truck & he just kinda stuck around. Our airbrusher thought it would be cool to put it on Rust Bucket as well...only instead of holding a gas can, he's holding a switch box.

The hotel after the show each day is a HUGE party. He decided to take a cruise with some of my buddies in the bed...then launched it & they all tumbled out...RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE COPS!! They kicked him out of his own truck! Then they told him to go to bed!!! LMAO...Ha ha ha!!! That sh!t was funny!!!
