For the past 2 weeks I have been using E-85 gas. The mpg went down a bit but if you can get it at 50-60 cent cheaper then regular its worth it. Plus here in IL if you save your receipts and fill out the rebate form you get a $450 tax rebate for using it.

You are not stupid. I have not heard of it either. Can some one do me a favor and explain what E85 is and why cost it less? And where can I get?

check this site out it will explain what e85 fuel is. http://www.e85fuel.com/e85101/faqs/e85.php?topic=E85101
I think you can only use this type of gas if you have a flex fuel truck. (which I think only came in 2nd gen 4cly model trucks. Im not a 100% sure though)

yeap corn is gonna be the cash crop now

im not surprised if they chop down forest for corn fields but if yall dont know corn takes nutrients in the soil so you gotta swich your crop around one year you grow corn next you grow wheat or beans

the farmer is gonna be gettin paid like a mofo pretty soon

so if there are any out of work people with land in the next few years you might wanna be come a farmer

E85 can now be made from just about any crop, you can use all the scraps from just about any crop and process it to make E85. They are building a plant in Alabama now to process wood chips to make E85, so it is not only made from corn but just about any agriculture product grown. So maybe in the future we can tell the terrorists to get ready to start drinking their precious oil.

It would be great for the farmers to finally get paid a decent price for their crops. So many have gone out of business and bankrupt due to government controlled prices for their crops. The price of corn has not increased in 50 years! If it weren't for working second jobs in town, most farmers would go under. :(

Spread the wealth! Let's get moving on distribution of a fantastic product. Just imagine what would hapen if we didn't need other countries oil. :D

Sorry I haven't replied to the questions about it but I was out of town dealing with family stuff.

It can be made from alot of different stuff in Brazil they are using sugar cane.

If you live in a big corn state then chances are that you will have E-85 somewhere.

So far I haven't come across any problems so spread the info if you have a flex fuel car/truck use E-85 and tell them rich oil shieks to stuff it.

only thing i've noticed about using corn gas is that you go through a tank of corn gas a lot quicker than a tank full of regular gas.

True but if you can buy it at 50-60 cents cheaper then regular then its worth it and thats another reason why they give that tax rebate here in IL.
