Alright, I've had a system in my truck in the past, which recently I took out because I had problems with my equipment.

I disconnected the fuse block under the hood, and there is the power wire just hanging off there (about 6" long with the rest of the fuse block on it) (4ga wire).

1. I have mucho corrosion all over the power battery terminal. I'm sure it has something to do with the wire there, but I was wondering, should I just take it off until I reinstall another system?

2. If I did reinstall it with another system, would it corrode up like that if it's running juice?

3. I've heard that Baking soda is what you use to clean up that corrosion but I wasn't sure....Good ol' baking soda ( and water...is that dumb?) Just enough to get it damp to move it around.

Thanks

Coke works very well too. Half for you and half for the corrosion

Coke soda will eat up and dissolve battery corrosion faster! Just get a can and pour it on. Works great! :D

so i can just pour some coke, and maybe take a brush or somethin and make sure to get it all off?

Also, if anyone could lend something towards my 1st and 2nd question.
Thanks

they're right in that coke will eat battery corrosion because it's a mild (but strong enough for corrosion) acid. Just think about that next time you go to drink a can of coke. as for your 1st question, it would seem like there was either water sitting on your terminals and that leads to corrosion, or the next likely explanation is that the material your wire leads are made out of are incompatible with your battery terminals, and thus they corrode. if you diconnect that terminal, you will lose power. I would install a new system (or at least a new lead and make sure the terminals are compatible), waterproof that area as best at possible, and coat the entire connection with dielectric grease(this will futher retard corrosion).

My advise is my opinion.

just look at it, like it really is cleaning up the corrosion. lol.

My power wire terminal is made up of copper, which is a shiesty o-terminal, that i should probably upgrade to almost anything else.

This might be aiding the corrosion thing, along with copper wires from the power wire are exposed some from the elements.
Thanks for opinions and what not, if anyone else has anything to add or to reiterate, feel free.
