weird noise!!

my heater wasworking perfect,it still does work but now it has a annoying sound that it makes (kinda like a leave is stuck in there makeing a ticking noise but it whistles too) did anybody ever have a problem like this?what could it be?

could be the bearings in the fan motor going bad. they usually make strange sounds when they start to wear out.

well how hard is that to fix and how much?

Access is under the hood on the far passenger side up by the firewall. The motor looks kinda like an old style top hat. A couple of the screws are a little tricky, but not that difficult with a flex joint. $36 at oreilly's.
