New dash Old truck

anyone ever put in a newer dash ,say from a 94 and up s-10 into an 82-93 without any real problems.. can it be done at all.. im pretty skilled ..just curious if it bolts in.. any help would be lovely..Corey :cool:

i put a 87 dash in a 82, almost all the plugs worked, but a lot of the electronics needed some wiring changes, tail lights, fan, horn etc..
so it may plug in but may not send the correct power to the correct place.

I would not foresee anything bolting or plugging in. The cabs of 1st and 2nd gen. are totally different. If it can be done, and that’s a big if, it will certainly take the making of new brackets and some intense wiring. All the power to you if you want to attempt it. I am sure that if you spend enough time and money it will come out great.

i guess all a guy can do is try it ..wiring to me would not be the issue.. it would be the actual fit. i once put a 98 chev 1500 dash into an 89 chev 1500..BOLTS RIGHT IN! thanks for your comments..Corey :cool:

the new ones are 3 inchs longer than the stock so if you wanna cut it out go ahead an it wont bolt up
