My radiator develoved a leak on the passanger side where the black thermoplastic cover is on the radiator. Truck is a 2000 2.2 engine
I have all the main parts removed but I have having an issue with the two steel lines that are screwed into the plastic which have some sorta C clip on them. I removed the C clip from the upper steel line but I am having issues getting it to come loose. I have it soaking with some penetrating oil. Are these lines usually difficult to remove? and where do they run coolant to?

Also I have some sort of a pump looking item that sits under the radiator on the passanger side. There are rad hoses going into it and out of it and one hose sorta "S" shaped that goes to nowhere. Can anyone tell me what the heck thing thing is for? I would of posted a photo but I see we/I am not allowed to do so.
